What is meant by soap? Mention the structure of molecule of soap. |

Answer» Solution :Soap is a sodium or potassium salt of long chain carboxylic acid (fatty acid). Soap molecule consist of two parts: ONE part contains long hydrocarbon chain. It is hydrophobic END. It is also known as non-POLAR tail. ANOTHER part is a negatively CHARGED polar part, which is known as polar head. It is hydrophilic end.
