Answer» Some poisonous materials are added to alcohol so drinkers cannot drink it .it is known as denatured alcohol When ethyle alcohol contains a sample of methyle alcohol then it is known to be denatured alcohol.It is needed because alcohol required for industrial ,hospital etc purpose is of cheap rate and it can be misused by the people. Denatured alcohol: when ethanol solution is mixed with methanol or coopersulphate then the solution is called Denatured alcohol Alcohol is Denatured to avoid drinking of the duty free alcohol meant for industrial purpose. It refers to ethanol which is made unfit for drinking purposes by adding small amts of poisonous substances like methanol, pyridine and CuSO4. Its pure form is used in industrial purposes poisoning of ethanol is done to stop the misuse of industrial alcohol for drinking purposes. |
