What is difference between light and dark reaction? |
| Answer» \tLIGHT REACTIONDARK REACTION\t\t(i) Light reaction only takes place in the presence of light.(i) Dark reaction takes place with the presence or absence of sunlight.(ii) Light reaction is considered as the light dependent reaction.(ii) Dark reaction is not dependent on light.(iii) Light reaction is also called as photo-chemical phase.(iii) Dark reaction is also called as bio-synthetic phase.(iv) Light reaction takes place in the grana thylakoids of the chloroplast.(iv) Dark reaction takes place in the Stroma of the chloroplast.(v) In light reaction, H+ ions are utilized by NADP ( Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate) to form NADPH.(v) In dark reaction, the hydrogen of NADPH Is use it to combine with CO2.(vi) The end products of light reaction are ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) and NADPH, which are also called as assimilatiory powers.(vi) The end product of direction is called glucose. ATP and NADPH help in the formation of glucose.\t | |
