| Answer» Defection refers to changing part allegiance from the party on which s person got elected to a different party.The constitution was amended to prevent MLAs and MPs from changing parties. This was done by these representatives in order to become ministers or for cash rewards.Now the law says that if any MLA or MP indulges in defection, he or she will lose the seat in the legislature.thsi new law has brought defection down but this has also made some MPs and MLAs to accept whatever the party decides. | |
