Answer» Crossing over is the exchange of genetic material between homologous chromosomes that results in recombinant chromosomes during sexual reproduction. Its uses are as follows : (i) For producing new combination of genes. (ii) For development of new species. (iii) Mapping of chromosome is prepared by frequency of crossing over. |
