Answer» Corrosion- it is the process in which metals are eaten up gradually by the action of air , moisture or a chemical (such as an acid ) on their surface .Rancidity- the condition produced by aerial oxidation of fats and oils in foods marked by unpleasant smell and taste is called rancidity. Corrosion is an irreversible interfacial reaction of a material (metal, ceramic, polymer) with its environment which results in consumption of the material or in dissolution into the material of a component of the environment.Rancidity The development of unpleasant flavours in oils and fats as a result of oxidation. |
