Ciliated epithelium performs the function of moving particles or fluid over the epithelial surface in such structures as the trachea, bronchial tubes, and nasal cavities. It often occurs in the vicinity of mucus-secretinggoblet cells. These are those cells which have cilia on their surface and their main function to remove mucous in wind pipe; ciliated epithelium is also present in fallopian tube, uterus and central part of spinal cord. ciliated epithelial tissue is the tissue of which cell are long and have hair like projection called cilia so it is called ciliated epithelial tissue cilia containing epithelium is called ciliated epithelium.. eg.in fallopian tube, respiratory tract etc..Cilia helps in the movement of particles in one direction.. |
