what is benzene ?what are the characteristics is aromatic compound?what is hukels rule?how can we prepare benzene from sodium benzoate?

Answer»

is an organic chemical compound with the molecular formula C₆H₆. The benzene molecule is composed of six carbon ATOMS joined in a PLANAR ring with ONE HYDROGEN atom attached to each. As it contains only carbon and hydrogen atoms, benzene is classed as a hydrocarbon. In 1931, German chemist and physicist Erich Hückel proposed a theory to help determine if a planar ring molecule would have AROMATIC properties. His rule states that if a cyclic, planar molecule has 4n+2 π electrons, it is considered aromatic. This rule would come to be known as Hückel's Rule.
