Answer» While configuring multi-AREA OSPF, one area must be CALLED area 0, REFERRED to as BACKBONE area. All other areas must connect to backbone area as inter-area traffic is send through the backbone area. While configuring multi-area OSPF, one area must be called area 0, referred to as backbone area.
