The wheel ROTATES about an axle mounted on a pole. The wind energy is used to rotate the wheel about its axis.Wind mill is used for operating water pumps, grinders and is also used to produce electricity.WIND ENERGY FARM: The electricity produced by a single windmill is very small, which cannot be used for commercial purpose. To produce electricity on a large scale, a large number of wind mils are erected in HIGH wind energy region. The region where large number of windmills are elected to produce electricity is called wind energy farm. |
