| Answer» It is the sea and the wavy motion of its water that has changed negligibly with respect to the author\'s mother. Through this, the poet wishes to express her opinion on the transformation which had occured in her mother from a child to an adult, when she had early yet, rapid development of emotional and psychological maturity. She says that unlike the sea which remains unchanged over decades, her mother lost her smile on becoming an adult and on attaining motherhood and she always longed to see her mother happy. | |
