When dry APRICOTS are left in pure water for sometime, apricots SWELL because water is a dilute solution. however when those dry apricots are letters transferred into sugar solution they shrink because sugar solution is a concentrated solution. 2. when PLASMA membrane of a cell break down the functioning of cell stops, the entry and exit of substances do not take place and hence cell dies.
