What happens to the gravitational force between two projects if masses are of both object are doubled.the distance between in are also doubled

Answer»

the following :Gravitational force is directly proportional to the PRODUCT of the MASS of objects .Gravitational force is inversely proportional to the DISTANCE between the objects. On doubling both the masses , the gravitational force will INCREASE by 4 th of the original because each masses are now doubled and they are multiplied. On doubling the distance the gravitational force will DECREASE by one - fourth because it is inversely proportional to the square of the distances. Now the gravitational energy will become = 4 × 1/4 th Hence the gravitational force will be the same .
