Answer» The two TERMS-' residue' and 'filtrate' are used with RESPECT to the process of filtration. A given solution is allowed to undergo sedimentation after which it is filtrated. 'Filtrate' refers to the solution that passes through the filter whereas 'residue' refers to the substance that is LEFT behind after the filtration. These terms are also applicable in CASE of evaporation or distillation. |
