What are the requirements for geometrical isomerism? |

The MINIMUM requirement for a compound to show geometrical isomerism is that the molecule should be rigid towards its rotation because of this rotation it forms “cis and trans isomers”. So rigidity among the molecules along the axis is MAINLY required for a compound to show geometrical isomerism. |
