Answer» The following features are observed after dissecting the specimen of kidney : External features : (1) Colour of kidney, (2) Shape, (3) All the external parts. Internal features : (1) The colour and texture of inner side of the kidney. (2) The shape and structure of inner side. Procedure : – First the kidney is washed until all the blood is drained from it. – It is kept in the tray and observed all the external features carefully. A longitudinal section is taken with the help of sharp blade. After dissecting, internal parts are also observed and noted down all the features.
