Answer» The DIAGRAM shows an aluminium oxide electrolysis cell. The negative electrodes (CATHODES ) and the positive electrodes (anodes ) are made of GRAPHITE, a form of carbon. During electrolysis: positively charged aluminium ions gain electrons from the cathode, and form MOLTEN aluminium. |
