2)decomposition reaction - those reactions in which a compound breaks up into two or more sub SIMPLER substances .

3)displacement reaction - those reactions in which a more reactive element displaces the less reactive element .

4)double displacement reaction - those reactions in which two compounds react by the exchange of iron to form an insoluble solid.
so the reaction is also called as precipitation reaction .
