Following are the basic postulates of Boolean algebra:

(1) If X not equal to 0 then X equal to 1; and If X not equal to 1 then X equal to 0 

(2)  OR Relations (Logical Addition)

(i)  0 + 0 = 0

(ii)  0 + 1 = 1

(iii)  1 + 0 = 1

(iv) 1 + 1 = 1

(3) AND Relations (Logical Multiplication) 

(i) 0 . 0 = 0  (ii) 0 . 1 = 0  (iii) 1 . 0 = 0  (iv) 1 . 1 = 0 

(4)  Complement Rules

(i)  0’ = 1  (ii)   1’= 0
