Railways are more reliable and efficient because they follow a fixed time schedules unlike roadswhich have no fixed timetable.- Railways can be used to move heavy and bulky goods at low rate over long distance compared toroads which are expensive over shortdistances.- Once build railways do not require frequent relaying unlike roads which are frequentlyresurfaced.- Railways are normally narrow hence economical in terms of landscape used by rails.
