It was not an illusion because Dr Margolin was conscious of the fact that his beloved Raizel was killed by Nazis. He had neither enjoyed food nor sipped liquor. He had not become victim of an accident because at the end of the story we find him in full consciousness. However it can be said that it was his astral body (the body sub-conscious) which had wished a meeting with Raizel at the wedding hall. While talking with Raizel, he was fully conscious. Considering all these factors it can be said that it was his deliberate wish to enjoy his fanciful scence of romance with his old beloved whom he loved deeply.

यह एक भ्रम नहीं था क्योंकि डॉ मारगोलिने इस सत्य को जानते थे कि उनकी प्रेमिका रायज़ल को नाजियों ने मार दिया था.। उन्होंने विवाह समारोह में न तो खाना खाया था और न ही कोई नशीला पेय पदार्थ पिया था। वह किसी दुर्घटना के शिकार भी नहीं हुये थे क्योंकि कहानी के अन्त में हम उन्हें पूरी तरह सचेत अवस्था में (होश में) देखते हैं। फिर भी यह कहा जा सकता है कि यह सूक्ष्म (आत्मिक) शरीर था जो अचेतन संसार में चक्कर लगा रहा था। रायज़ल से बात करते समय (कल्पना में) वह पूरी तरह होश में थे। इन सभी बातों को देखते हुये यह कहा जा सकता है कि यह उनकी सोची समझी इच्छा थी, अपनी पुरानी प्रेमिका जिसे वह बेहद प्यार करते थे, के साथ इस प्रेमपूर्ण कल्पनात्मक दृश्य का आनन्द लेने की (अर्थात् अपने पुराने प्रेम को महसूस करने के लिये यह कल्पनात्मक दृश्य उन्होंने जानबूझ कंर रचा था)
