Answer» Correct Answer - Option 1 : 19 For smallest number of coins use the coins with maximum possible denomination first (50, 25, 10, 5 and 2 paise) For 69 paise ⇒ (1 × 50) + (1 × 10) + (1 × 5) + (2 × 2) = 5 coins For 78 paise ⇒ (1 × 50) + (2 × 10) + (4 × 2) = 7 coins For 1.01 rupees or 101 paise ⇒ (1 × 50) + (1 × 25) + (2 × 10) + (3 × 2) = 7 coins ∴ Total minimum coins required = 5 + 7 + 7 = 19 coins |
