Alluvial soil can be classified into two groups on the basis of its age - the\xa0khaddar\xa0and the\xa0bhangar. The former is light in colour and is made up of newer deposits. The latter is the older alluvium and is composed of lime nodules or\xa0kanker\xa0and its composition is clayey.\xa0Khadar\xa0tends to be more fertile as new layers are deposited year after year during the monsoon season. The\xa0bhangar\xa0soil, on the other hand, can be cultivated using manure.
