1.

Two trains running in opposite directions cross a pole in 30 seconds and 20 seconds respectively. They cross each other in 25 seconds. The ratio of their speed is …….1. 1 ∶ 12. 1 ∶ 73. 1 ∶ 54. 1 ∶ 2

Answer» Correct Answer - Option 1 : 1 ∶ 1

 Formula Used:

Distance = Speed × Time

Let the speed of the two trains be 'x' m/sec and 'y' m/ sec

Then,

Length of the first train = 30x meters

And length of the second train = 20y meters

Calculation:

 According to question,

⇒ {(30x + 20y)/x + Y} = 25 seconds

⇒ 30x + 20y = 25x + 25y

⇒ 5x = 5y

⇒ x/y = 1/1

∴ The ratio of speed = 1 : 1
