Two insulated charged copper spheres A and B of identical size have charges qA and qB respectively. When they are brought in contact with each other and finally separated, what are the new charges on them? |
|
Answer» The charge on both spheres would be = (qA + qB)/2. In case of two spheres of identical size, the total charge will try to distribute itself evenly between them. The positive charges(and negative charge) are repelled by one another and try to get as far apart as possible. For the whole we have (qA + qB) For each sphere the new charges will be \(\frac{(q_A + q_B)}{2}\) |
