Answer» Hi friend!
In this QUESTION, we need to find out how many minimum litres of petrol does each car need to have, if they both have to travel the exact same distance, right? Ok, so let's see;
Mileage of car A: 20kmpl Mileage of car B: 15kmpl
We need to find LCM of 20 and 15 over here, to find the common distance multiple.
LCM of 20 & 15 is 60km. I have attached a pic. to show you the process of LCM.
Car A and B need x and y litres of petrol to run 60km, respectively. This can be done by dividing the two figures.
Car A: 60/20 litres = 3 litres Car B: 60/15 litres = 4 litres
Therefore, Car A needs 3 litres of petrol and Car B needs 4 litres of petrol at the minimum.
