1.

. There is an equilateral triangle of which theside is 2m. With all the three corners ascentres circles are described each of radium1m. Calculate the shaded area.

Answer»

Side of Equilateral Triangle = 2 m

Area of Triangle = A = √3/4 a²

= √3 / 4 × 2 × 2

= √3 m²

Radius = 1 m

Area of 3 sector

= 3 × πr²ø / 360

= πr²ø / 120

= 22/7 × 1 × 1 × 1 × 60 / 120

= 22 / 7 × 1 / 2

= 11 / 7

= 1.57 m²

Area of Shaded Portion

= Area of Triangle - Area of 3 Sector

= 1.73 - 1.57

= 0.16 m²
