the two legs of a triangle are equal and the square of its hypotenuse is 50 find the length of each leg |
|
Answer» LET the length of two legs be ' X ' and that of Hypotenuse be y. Applying Pythagoras Theorem we get, x² + x² = y² We know y² = 50 Substituting it in the above equation we get, x² + x² = 50 2x² = 50 x² = 50 / 2 = 25 => x = √ 25 = 5 units. Hence the length of each side other than hypotenuse is 5 units and that of hypotenuse is √ 50. |
