It is given that ,

Total remuneration ( R ) paid to labourers

is directly variation with the number ( N ) of

labourers .

R1 = Rs 1000 ,

N1 = 4 ,

R2 = ?

N2 = 17

R2/N2 = R1/N1

R2/17 = 1000/4

R2 = ( 1000 × 17 )/4

R2= 250 × 17

R2 = 4250

Therefore ,

Total remuneration of 17 labourers = R2

= Rs4250
