1.

The third equation of motion using graphically

Answer»

Here's your answer!

Consider an object starts moving with a velocity u at t = 0 second.

• Consider the object stopping motion with velocity v at t = t SECONDS.

Take trapezium WXZTS,

• The AREA of trapezium = ½ ( sum of parallel sides ) × height ( distance between the parallel sides )

• Area = ½ ( ZT + XS ) × TS

• s = ½ ( u + v ) × time - equation "a"

From equation = t = v - u / a - equation "b"

• Let the eq. "b" be SUBSTITUTED in eq. "a"

• s = ½ ( u + v ) ( v - u / a )

• s = ½×a ( v - u ) ( v + u )

• s = ½.a ( v² - u² )

• 2as = v² - u² •

Hence shown!

Hope it helps!
