The temperature of a black body is increased from 200 K to 400 K. How will the ratio of emission of energy change?

Answer»

Stefan's law : It state that the AMOUNT of energy E radiated PER second per unit area of a perfect black BODY is directly proportional to the fourth power of its absolute TEMPERATURE.i.e. E = σ T⁴Here temperature becomes double.i.e. 200 K to 400 K  [ Twice of initial ] = > E = 2⁴= > 16 times . Therefore , ratio of emission of energy change is 1 : 16.
