y - 4 = 0 ; y - 14 = 0

y = 4 ; y = 14

We can TAKE either 4 or 14 as y value.

Let's take 14.

Then x :

x + y = 18

x + 14 = 18

x = 18 - 14

x = 4

Therefore, the two numbers are 14 and 4.
