Let the age of Sangeeta be x and that of her brother's age be y


According to question,


Sangeeta's age + Brother's age = 11


=> x + y = 11 ---> ( EQUATION 1 )


Also, Sangeeta's age is 10 years less than her brother.


=> x = y - 10 ---> ( Equation 2 )


SUBSTITUTING Equation 2 in Equation 1 we get,


=> y - 10 + y = 11


=> 2y - 10 = 11


=> 2y = 11 + 10


=> 2y = 21 years


=> y = 21 / 2 = 10.5 years


Hence the age of her brother is 10.5 years or 10 years 6 months.


Sangeeta's age ( x ) = y - 10


=> x = 10.5 - 10 = 0.5 years or 0 years 6 months.


Hence Age of Brother = 10.5 years and age of Sangeeta is 0.5 years.
