Let the present age of SAMEER be x year.
And, the present age of his father be y years.

x + y = 54 .............(i)
SIX years AGO,
Sameer's age = x - 6
His father's age = y - 6
Therefore, 6 ( x - 6 ) = ( y - 6 )
====> 6x - 36 = y - 6
====> 6x - y = 30 ..................(ii)
By adding eq. (i) and (ii). We have,
====> x = 12 ..............Answer
Put the value of x = 12 in eq. (i)
====> x + y = 54
====> 12 + y = 54
====> y = 42 .......................Answer
Hence, The present age of Sameer is 12 years.
And, His father's present age is 42 years.
