Answer» The Simon Commission was a seven member commission which consisted of the British members. It came to India in 1927. It was appointed to design constitutional reforms in India and make necessary recommendations to the British Government.The Simon Commission was boycotted because it had no Indian members in it . The aim of the Commission was to present an account of how the Indian Constitution was working. But, the British did not include any Indians as members to determine the building of an institution which would decide the political future of India. It was considered as a sheer insult by the Indian nationalists . It projected the unrepresentative character of the British which the Indians decided to boycott fully. |
