2y = x + 4
2y - x - 4 = 0 -----(1)

2X + y + 8 = 4x - y
-2x + 2y + 8 = 0 ------(2)

Multiply -1 by (2)

2x - 2y - 8 = 0 -------(3)

Adding (1) and (3)

x - 12 = 0
x = 12

Keeping value of x in (1) eq.,

2y - 12 - 4 = 0
2y = 16
y = 8

Length of □ = 4x - y or 4 × 12 - 8
= 40

Breadth = 2y or 2 × 8 = 16

Perimeter = 2 ( L + B )
= 2 ( 40 + 16 )
= 112 units

Area = 40 × 16 = 640 unit^2
