The radius of a circle is 9 cms. Find the length of anarc of this circle which cuts off a chord of lengthequal to length ofradius.

Given: chord CB = 9cm , radii OC = OB = 9 cm

< COB = 60° ( as triangle OCB is an equilateral triangle)

So, length of arc CB =( sector angle / 360° ) * 2 pi r

=> (60° / 360° ) 2 pi * 9

= > 18 pi / 6 = 3 pi

Length of arc CB = (3 pi) cm
