1.

The perimeter of a rectangular plot is 120 m. if the length of the plot is twice its width, the area of the plot.

Answer»

Solution !

let the breadth of the plot be x metres,

then it's LENGTH = 2x metres.

∴ PERIMETER of the plot = 2 x + x + 2 x + x = 6x meters.

according to given, 6x = 120 => x = 20 => breath = 20 m, length = 40 m.

∴ Area of the plot = length × breadth

= ( 40 × 20) m²

= 800 m² .
