1.

the numerator of a fraction is 4 less than the denominator if 1 is added to both its numerator and denominator it becomes one by two find the fraction

Answer»

X-4=1 /x + 1 = 1.2 (according to the question)
therefore by cross multiplying we get
2 ( x-4+1) =  1 (x+1)
2X - 8 + 2 = x + 1
2x  - x = 1 - 2 + 8 (bringing all variables to ONE SIDE)
x = 7
hope it helps .................. cheers.... :) :D
