1.

The mass of a planet is 6 times the mass of earth and its radius is three times that the Earth considering acceleration due to gravity on earth to be 9.8 M per second square calculate the value of g on the other planet

Answer»

Let MASS of earth be Me and radius of earth be Re.

At earth's surface
g=GMe/Re^2

Let the mass of the PLANET be M' and radius be R'.

At planet's surface
g'=GM'/R'^2

according to given CONDITION
M'=6Me,R'=3Re

g'=G6Me/(3Re)^2
g'=6GMe/9Re^2
g'=GMe/Re^2×6/9
we know GMe/Re^2=g

putting in the value of GMe/Re^2

g'=g×6/9
g'=9.8×6/9
g'=6.53m/s^2

hope it HELPS u.....
