Answer»

☆ Question ☆

The length of a rectangle exceeds its width by 6m. If its perimeter is 44m FIND its dimension.

☆ Given ☆

  • The length of a rectangle exceeds its width by 6 m.
  • The perimeter of the rectangle is 44 m.

☆ To find ☆

  • Dimension

☆ SOLUTION ☆

Let the width of rectangle be X m.

Therefore,

Length of rectangle = 6 m more than x Length = ( x + 6 ) m.

As we know that

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( l + w )

=> 44 = 2 ( l + w )

=> 44 = 2 ( x + 6 + x )

=> 44 = 2 ( 2x + 6 )

=> 44 = 4x + 12

=> 44 - 12 = 4x

=> 32 = 4x

=  >  \frac{32}{4}  = x

=> 8X

So, width of rectangle is x = 8m.

Length of rectangle = x + 6

=> 8 + 6 = 14 m.
