1.

The lateral surface area of a cylinder of length 14 m is 220 m2. Find the volume of the cylinder.

Answer»

In the question it is given that

Length of the cylinder = 14 m

Which means,

That the height of the cylinder = 14m

Lateral surface area of the cylinder = \(2\pi rh\)

220 = \(2\times\frac{22}{7}\times r\times14\)

r = \(\frac{10}{4}\)

r = 2.5 m

Hence,

We can find the volume as,

Volume of the cylinder = \(\pi r^2h\)

\(\frac{22}{7}\times (2.5)^2\times14\)

= 22 × 2 × 2.5 × 2.5

= 275 m3
