1.

The hypotenuse of a right angle triangle is 13 cm. If one other side of the triangle is 1 cm shorter than the hypotenuse, calculate the third side of the triangle

Answer»

Step-by-step explanation:

HYPOTENUSE of triangle = 13cm

let the 1CM shorter( = 12cm ) side is perpendicular side and we have to find THIRD side (base) of triangle

by Pythagoras theorem

H² = P² + B²

(13)² = (12)² + B²

B² = (13)²– (12)²

B² = 169 – 144

B² = 25

B = 5

Therefore third side of triangle = 5 cm

hope it helps you :)
