here is your ANSWER !!

let the number be x

and other number is y

condition :-

according to question !!

x - y = 14

or

y - x = 14

---------------------------(1)

according to question !

DIFFERENCE between their squares

is =>

x² - y² = 448

or

( 14 + y ) ² - y² = 448

196 + y² + 28y - y² = 448

252 / 28 = y

y = 9

=> on putting the value of y in equation 1 we get

x = 23 , 9

y = 9 , 23

hence , two Answer possible !!
