Let x be the LARGER no & y be the SMALLER no
x - y = 100 - - - - - (i)
x = 100 + y
4% of x = 6% of y + 1
0.04 x = 0.06 y + 1
4x-6y = 100
2x-3y = 50 - - - - - (II)
2(100 + y) - 3y = 50
200 + 2y - 3y = 50
y = 150
x = 100 + y = 100 + 150 = 250
x + y = 250 + 150 = 400
