Taxi charges in a city consist of fixed charges and the remaining chargesdepend upon the distance travelled. For a journey of 10 km, the chargepaid is * 75 and for a journey of 15 km, the charge paid is 110. Findthe fixed charge and charges per km. Hence, find the charge of covering adistance of 35 km. |
Answer» Given :-
To find :-
Solution :-→ Let us assume That, fixed charge is = Rs.X → And, Than, Charge per km = Rs.y . Than, A/q, → x + 10y = 75 --------- Equation (1) → x + 15y = 110 --------- Equation (2) Subtracting Equation (1) From Equation (2) , we get, → (x + 15y) - (x + 10y) = 110 - 75 → x - x + 15y - 10y = 35 → 5Y = 35 → y = 7 .Putting in Equation (1) we get, → x + 10*7 = 75 → x = 75 - 70 → x = 5.Hence, The fixed charge is = Rs.5 . → Charge per km is = Rs.7. And , → the charge of covering a distance of 35 km. = 5 + 35*7 = 5 + 245 = Rs.250 . Hence, the charge of covering a distance of 35 km is Rs.250. |
