It is a very unusual field having one side as 20 cm. Given:Area = 680 m^2; unfenced side = 20 m Formula for perimeter of a rectangle: P = 2W + 2L; one of W was not fenced. The formula can also be written as P = 2(W + L) ; Area =LW. LW = 680 m^2 Since W = 20 m then 20L = 680 m^2 L = 680 m^2 / 20 m L = 34 m So the length of the fencing material is L + L + W. It is 34 m + 34 m + 20 m = 88 m. |
