Answer» No, we don\'t agree with this statement because sustainable development is not a new area of knowledge this has been the main concern of leaders and thinker in the past . Gandhiji was very apt in voice his concern about resource conservation however , the term sustainable development is recently originated by the Brundtland commission report for this purpose. Yes, we agree with this statement. The reasons are:(i)\xa0Sustainability of development is comparatively a new area of knowledge in which scientists, economists, philosophers and other social scientists are working together.\xa0(ii)\xa0In general, the question of development or progress is perennial.\xa0(iii)\xa0At all times, as a member of society and as an individual’s we need to ask where we want to go, what we wish to become and what our goals are. So the debate on development continues. |
