Answer» pancreas is an elongated yellowish gland line parallel to and being in the stomach. the pancreas is both an endocrine and exocrine. the exocrine region secret sodium bicarbonate and many digestive enzymes. the bicarbonate Ion secreted by pancreatic duct mix the acidic medium alkaline or basic. alkaline medium is favourable for the action of pancreatic enzymes. the pancreatic amylase causes breakdown of starch ,pancreatic lipase breaks down lipids and trypsin causes digestion of protein its salts help in emulsification. emulsification is a process in which the large fat molecules are broken down into small globules of fats so that it could be easily digested bye other organelles bile contains bile pigments and bile salts. The bile contains no enzyme and does has action on food. liver secretes bile juice which is stored in gallbladder. |
