Faraday's first law of electrolysis-

It states that- The amount of chemical reaction and hence the mass of any substance deposited or liberated at any electrode is directly proportional to the quantity of electricity passed through the electrolyte (solution of melt). Thus, it W gram of the substance is deposited on passing Q coulombs of electricity then W ∝ R ⇒ W = ZQ

When z is a constant of proportionally and is called electrochemical equivalent of the substance deposited.

If a current of 1 amperes is passed for t seconds, then Q = I x t

So W = Z x Q = z x I x t
